SQ7 AdBlue fault "reductant quality performance"
merc_320 replied to Flobble's topic in Audi Q7 Club
Hi All Encountering the same problem. The car has been with Audi for 4 months. NOx sensor changed twice, they are talking with Audi Germany to solve the reset on the display. They believe the car needs a big drive, so I they will give me back the car on Friday to blast it on the motorway. The car drove fine but the countdown is now to 400 miles. Wondering if anyone found a resolution. -
it could be the return pipe to the compressor has come off but you would need to take a look.
-
The compressor was at fault with no other real leaks apart from a union on a rear air bag
-
Hi there yes my car works fine now..a few times a sporadic front level sensor but that's it.

A6 Allroad 2013 suspension on the floor
cliffcoggin replied to Audi dan's topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
The rear of what? Please explain. -
Even if it was burning oil, which I doubt, you would not necessarily see a drop in level. A little oil goes a long way when it comes to making a stink. Furthermore oil fumes should not enter the cabin unless the crankcase pressure relief valve is blocked or the oil filler cap is missing. I believe you will regret accepting the car, but it's your money and your choice.

How did you get on resolving this. Mine dumps the air out of the rear then overheats the compressor.

I don’t know mate. Fair enough. But what i do know, is that all the service kits sold in the uk for the ZF8 hp55, which fit my SQ5 all have the 7ltrs. These are ZF’s actual kits. I can’t see them selling you a kit that is short by 1ltr.

-
You cannot drain all the oil out on an oil and filter change on the Auto g/box, soooo, you just need the 7ltrs. Unless you plan on taking the torque converter out…..
-
That kit only includes 7 litres, ZF say the box needs 8 litres
-
Aye, it is John. If you see my picture from an earlier post, that is the official ZF service kit for the auto g/box. That is on Opie Oils website, but there are other companies that sell the product. Just need to do some looking/ phoning around. 👍🏻

Good point. Neighbour had a similar issue with his Maserati, they were great with him, took the car away and left him with a new S class Mercedes. Came back some weeks later. I asked him what the issue was and he hadn't a clue.

My 2008 Q7 3.0 is causing a garage a headache and i am looking for any help. It wont warm up past 50-60 on motorway and when sitting idle goes to 90 and stays but as soon as driven off drops back to 50-60. Garage replaced thermostat the water pump and t piece one way valve and still doing it. They are now saying there is anothet aux water pump and if that is changed it will be all they can do. Has something been missed maybe coolant temp sensor or some googling says like the maf sensor. I just cant keep throwing money at this and it never gets done. They also said lots fuel around the injectors but not the seals and getting low fuel rail pressure codes but again they cant see any issue
-
That sounds as if you disbelieve them David! No doubt there will be others who share your belief, and you have decided to keep it. They say love is blind, let’s hope that doesn’t apply in this case. Have you read the ‘exclusions’ in your 3 year warranty? Kind regards, Gareth.

Oil level still shows as full, can’t help but think they topped it up, they said they didn’t.
-
I think it’s burnt oil, but I am not 100% sure. It’s fine while travelling along, with or without aircon. After it’s been pulled up for a while and I get back in, the smell is noticeable.
-
Air con should not stink. Are you certain it is burnt oil you smell, or could it be mildew?
-
Not that I know of. You would have to look for yourself or get it checked at a garage

My 'new' secondhand A3 cabriolet had a passenger door problem: it will lock with the fob but not unlock so the passenger can open it from outside. Otherwise everything fine. I examined door frame wiring and it's all good so I bought a new lock having watched many Youtube videos where I learn it's a pretty common VAG problem. However, before changing the lock I discovered by chance that unclipping the yellow wiring connector in the lower left corner of the (RHD car) passenger door appears to solve the problem (see image). As far as I can tell without any repercussions. Door locks and unlocks properly now and the window works. I can't imagine this location is anything to do with the wing mirror or speaker. So what is it for? It has two thin wires, white and brown and there is continuity of both to the door pillar plug. Basically, is it safe to drive the car without plugging this back in?

Thanks for the advice re LLP - that did the trick eventually.
-
Thanks for all the advice, I was going to cancel, took the car back, they wanted to check it over. After a 100 mile run and cooled for a few minutes, when they checked the oil level it showed as full. Took the cover and air filter box off, no signs of leaking, put it on a lift, removed under covers, all looks very clean. The mechanic thinks it could be smelly air con! As I love the car, I took the decision to keep it and see how I get on, I have a 3 year warranty after all. Fingers crossed.
