  1. Past hour
  2. I need a replacement boot lid for my A2 2005 aluminium body Edward
  3. Thank you. I am going to keep an eye on it and discuss it with Audi at the first service. With the drips being equal and on both sides I am guessing that it is rainwater rather than something internal. I appreciate you taking the time for considered thought
  4. I would not know if it is a recognised problem, but I would be concerned about it in your place. If the water is not coming off the road surface it must be leaking from the car. Perhaps somebody more knowledgeable will chip in.
  5. Thanks for your reply. The roads have been dry, today and yesterday. As it turned out, only a limited amount of water came out of the sills, less than 25ml, the Golf would hold close to a litre and be draining for an hour or two and you could hear it sloshing around. If it is not a known problem then I am happy to ignore it.
  6. Today
  7. Il post a picture to help explain what I mean about the airbag part that you shouldn’t have anything in, all wires should go above the Jesus handle fixings and secure to either the bodywork or be above the roof lining about 6inchs inwards like other manufactures do
  8. To lower the roof cloth enough to install the wiring further enough inwards as not to interfere with the curtain airbag clearance section of the roof cloth you would still need to remove B pillar trims, Jesus handles and sun visors, personally I would always rather work along the floor trims then roof trims. If you do go down the roof cloth route be very careful when applying pressure as it’s only thin cardboard with a sponge fabric glued onto it and it kinks very easily and can remain visible afterwards
  9. Not while I had the car. I may well be wrong, but I seem to remember the guy telling me that the cabling was already in the roof as it was part of the loom for the rear of the car. The installation at home only took about 1.5 hours so that well may have been the case. Tony
  10. Had you been driving on a wet road just prior to parking?
  11. Problem is with the colour marks I can't see them local company said he's got 3 or 4 options so bit stuck at the moment. Thanks for reply
  12. Thank you! Now I have to figure out why the satnav has stopped working. 😂
  13. Seen a couple of videos of rear hatch trim removal and think your comment about fingers seems realistic. My concern about the roof lining route which most aftermarket fitters seem to use is the possibility of rattles at a later date. Have you noticed any problems Anton?
  14. glad you sorted it
  15. Did you work out what it was Davie?
  16. Hi All, this is a long term issue that I have been reluctant to go to a mechanic for because I am stubborn and like fixing things myself. However, I am now starting to question whether something is an issue or not. Approximately 1 year after buying the car (2011 A6 C6 3.0 TDI manual) my wipers stopped working completely. I was quoted £500+ to have them fixed, I bought used linkage from a breaker and replaced myself, resealed the windscreen scuttle panel with 3M weather sealer (probably the start of my issues). IMG_1972.mov 2 years later which takes us to October 2024 I discover a huge amount of mush (leaves, soil, water) in and around the linkage area and ECU box on the opposite side of the engine bay. I sucked out and cleaned as best as I could, water seemed to drain normally after that. I cleaned the old 3M weather sealer from the scuttle panel to windscreen joint and applied a more flexible black silicone sealant, which when dry feels like rubber. IMG_0326.mov A month ago I clean my car (snow foam, pressure washer etc) and afterwards I lift the bonnet to dry the plastic cover at the top of the engine bay (the plastic cover that slots into the plastic scuttle panel). When doing so I notice a load of snow foam that had found its way into the crevices near the ECU box and the wiper linkage area. Not much water just foam, I use an air duster to displace the foam and dry the area. 2 weeks ago I discover water in the drivers footwell after rainfall. Yesterday I remove the wipers, scuttle panel, wiper linkage and realise that when I cleaned out the mush in October, the grommet gasket that allows the bonnet release cable and some electronic wiring passed from the engine bay to the cabin, that grommet isn’t seated properly around the grommet passing into the cabin, which is how the water got into the cabin. I seated it properly and then also put some black silicone sealant around that gasket. (By this point you’re probably thinking about investing in black silicone sealant shares with me around) Like before, I refit everything and resealed the scuttle panel with…… you guessed it…… black silicone sealant, this time though I put some in the groove, pushed the plastic panel into place and then smoothed over to create a seamless joint for water from the windscreen to pass over and into the scuttle drain. IMG_0605.mov Had a little look this morning, footwell is dry! But looks like water is still getting into the linkage and ECU area. At this point I’m wondering if that is just normal behaviour and I should just allow it to happen. Looking at the drivers side wiper drain hole in the panel, it seams to just drop the water very close to the grommet that was letting water pass into the cabin. i have attached 3 videos. 1 of the mushy leaves and soil, 1 of the foam/leaf discovery and 1 from this morning showing water that is found its way to near the linkage bushings and ECU box. If anyone has a greater understanding of this matter then I really would like to know, I’m at a crossroads between putting everything into this car to keep it going (it’s only at 92,000 miles) or selling and going for something like a newer (2016-17) A6 or A7, which would possibly have its own set of problems
  17. Hello Daniel, Charging the battery to prove it is serviceable is really meaningless. You need to get its efficiency measured over the important parameters, before you can eliminate it as being a contributor to your issue. Kind regards, Gareth.
  18. Welcome Mathew, LUK should be able to advise you which stockists - if any - have it in stock, and if out of stock in U.K. and Continent, when it is likely to be back in stock. Does this kit include the dual mass flywheel? In terms of motorfactors, who have you tried? Kind regards, Gareth.
  19. I thought I'd give an update. The cover at the base of the wiper arm unclips and I found my nozzle jet fell out. I confirmed that with the jet off, water was flowing. The little nozzle jet thing you can pick up a pair of for under £5 on eBay. Problem solved!
  20. The A1 replaced a Golf convertible which had wet carpets and boot floor, also dripped from the sills. Noticed today that the A1 when parked on a slight slope was also dripping from the sills on both sides, the carpets and boot floor appear dry and I am now going out to check the battery tray. the car does not have a sun roof. the car is garaged every night. Is this something and nothing or should I be on the look out for something else? Thank you
  21. When driving if I accelerate hard the glow plug light flashes.not sure what this could be is it injectors.if I stop the engine and restart light goes off.and car drives as normal with or without light on
  22. Have been looking for a vehicle to replace my now aging Jaguar XF ... it's been a wonderful car but now is the time to change as it approaches 12 years old. Been to most the garages in the Swansea area and yesterday got blown away with the specification of the Q4 eTron 45. So much so that we'll probably order one after the Easter holidays. In fairness, the salesman answered just about everything I asked of him, but I've joined this forum so that I may ask owners their opions of specific things. Thanks for having me.
  23. Hello everyone, Really hoping someone can help me out here. The clutch on my Audi A4 B9 1.4 TFSI (engine code CVNA) has unfortunately failed, and I'm trying to find a replacement that isn't the manufacture part for financial reasons. I've called LUK and apparently the only kit that fits this car is the LUK 623 3824 09. I've looked everywhere on the internet and motor part traders and I cannot find it in stock anywhere. Does anyone know how to source a clutch kit for this car? Thanks so much if anyone can help
  24. I had my camera fitted by Autologics in my A6 Avant. I remember two things the techy said. The cabling was routed through the roof lining, and that the clips holding the trim on would take you fingers off if you were not careful.
  25. Yesterday
  26. I removed black battery cable and charged it to make sure its not battery
  27. Could be anything. Not all OBD readers are the same. Needs a full VCDS scan. Could even be battery related.
