  3. Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can tell me where the fuse to check for why 1. My front window won't go up and down 2. My aircon only blows hot air I thought before I pay loads on it,would it be a fuse matter?
  4. I am having the exact same issue. I've got my car going into the audi garage next week. FM works fine. Audi A1 2018. Started I would say last saturday morning first thing, very strange.

  6. Not sure I get the Ha Ha bit! Good luck with it.
  7. HI, Thanks for the response.. sort of what I had come to assume. Phone is working on a 2G connection, but the lack of data connection limits the satnav to basic operation only. I guess I either live with it like this or pay for an Android Auto conversion and use the phone apps instead of the car satnav.........
  8. my car overheating put new pump thermo and sensors car is in limp mode scanner car not clear
  9. Ha ha I’ve been to see him , he’s so busy but I’ve managed to get everything I need off him, I’m pretty handy with stuff like this so I should be fine. Thanks for all the help guys 👍🏻
  10. Hi all, Appreciate any reply to this but I’m very stuck for advice. Recently my 2014 A6’s MMI has been functioning for the first half hour of a journey then it shuts down and refuses to come back up. I found water in the boot/trunk and brought to Audi who said there was a fault in the fibre optic loop. They want ridiculous money to investigate it and I’d really appreciate some tips. I have Bose sound system if that makes any difference. Thanks for viewing.
  11. Thanks @cliffcoggin, time to look for a local HVAC specialist, then
  12. Look though this forum and you will find dozens of owners facing the same problem. Few have had a satisfacory resolution.
  13. Sounds like the gas expansion valve is not opening. I don't know how to test or repair it so you may need to visit an aircon specialist.
  14. Hello Saj, Sorry to say it as I see it, but from your answers I don’t feel you are currently informed enough to end up with a favourable and lasting finish. Apologies, but if your friend has a bodyshop, why don’t you just entrust this job to him, but observe what he does so that you gain some experience of the correct procedure?
  15. Yes initial diagnostic check by a mechanic friend said it the alternator. A proper diagnositic person due to check it next week, with the aim of initially saving the 42/44volt battery as that replacement could be approx £4k! He will also check for software updates and if any outstanding which should have been done by Audi direct. New alternator looking at £3k for parts and labour, the part is a horrible £1400-1700 roughly. Been trying to do more research on the matter in the USA (attached) plus anything else relevant to the UK. Having spoke to the garage mechanic and a rescue towing service, they both informed me that they have seen plenty of these problems, its something that is happening due to the battery system not being suitable or is overly complicated. So...can all Audi owners please check you are not due for a software update in the first instance, plus check what type of system you have to ensure you do whatever necessary to protect against major damage. Please do not get into the mess im about to face. 16. Thanks for the great write-up @Stewb My A6 is blowing warm air at the moment, but sadly replacing this sensor didn't sort it. I've posted about it here if anyone reading this can offer advice.
  17. Afternoon all, I'd like some advice re. getting my aircon working if possible, please. I have a 2014 A6 C7 Avant Ultra with 4 zone climate feature. Bought it late last year when it was cold and the heater works perfectly (although, thinking back, I did notice that the windscreen was hard to defog). Now the UK temperatures have started heading upwards I find that the A/C doesn't cool. It's only ~20degC out there at the moment, but dialling the AC down to 16degC gets the fans spinning like mad, but pushing air at ambient temperature. I've checked, and it's the same at all vents, not just the drivers. After reading this thread I fitted a Mahle replacement pressure sensor, hoping it would be a quick and cheap fix, but it's made no difference A VCDS scan show no errors with the HVAC systems. See the attached screengrab for figures from when the engine had been running (stationary) for about 30mins with the AC dialled down to 16degC. The compressor is running, refrigerant is at ~6bar and the vents are expecting -13degC but getting +31degC. Refrigerant was at ~3bar with the system not running. Any bright ideas, people?
  18. Hi @Entwood, it's not possible to upgrade the GSM modules, and with all carriers now having pretty much disabled 3G services in the UK it's useless, I'm afraid. (I'm not a car expert, but I do work in telecoms 🙂)
  19. I’ve not had a look yet but my friend has a body shop so I’ll ask him, see what he says, any advice what to use ?
  20. What grit paper are you intending to use to prepare the surface?
  21. Thanks guys, I went to GSF and purchased some primer and Gloss Spray. I’ve already got some clear lacquer. Fingers crossed all goes well tomorrow lol.
  22. Don’t forget your Panel prep and adhesion promotor aerosols 👍 halfords own aerosols aren't too bad so long as you are not going for factory paint colour match. It’s also worth investing in a 2 pack clear coat though it’s unlikely you’ll pick that up from halfords. https://www.halfords.com/motoring/paints-and-body-repair/primer/halfords-plastic-pre-primer-clear-300ml-258747.html?istCompanyId=b8708c57-7a02-4cf6-b2c0-dc36b54a327e&istFeedId=
  23. @scottiecb19 What car is it, sq7? you have the same problem as me
  24. Agreed. As i initially mentioned, i've never come across a vehicle that doesn't test the oil pressure lamp with ignition on, as it cycles through it's own diagnostic check. But both our kids and my car don't show this particular lamp at all during self check. There must be umpteen Audi A4 and A5, 2014 - 2017 cars (and their drivers) on this forum who maybe can check their dash, for this particular warning light. I only mention the years as those are the model years of my car, and our kids Cheers all
  25. Cheers thank you 🤞
  26. I believe DAB relies on a separate aerial to FM, so check its connections as a first step.
