Thank you. The garage said that they'll try to find a solution from an Audi mechanic. The power steering was working perfectly prior to me taking to the garage. They replaced front break calipers and repair an oil leak. Their computer system did not come up with a solution. I feel that it's their causing this problem. I don't intend to fork out massive amount of money again, as this last repair cost over €600.

Looks a lovely A6. You could aways wrap it instead of painting it.

Id recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. This should be done by the dealer who sold it free of charge if purchased within the first 30 days of sale.

Contact Audi retrofits or autologics as members have used them for retrofits and been happy with the results

Recently bought an edition 1. Has anyone fitted this as a diy fit. Particularly interested in hardwire routing through the car to the mmi. Pictures would be a bonus. Many thanks.

I've now got a case reference from Audi UK. Spoke to a very helpful guy there and he's since emailed to say their tech team will need to take a look, so I'll share screen shots and updates with them when on laptop later. I'll update here as I hear something to report back.

My SDL National frequencies DAB were lost for a while (I listen to Virgin), then came back, then gone again for about two weeks now. I'm following up with Arqiva to see what's going on... all my other DAB frequencies are OK.

Hi Audi Owners Club, I’m a brand-new Audi owner, just two days in! I recently bought an Audi A5 TFSI 40 Black Edition MHEV, a keyless car. It’s been a great drive so far, but I’ve noticed something unusual and a bit concerning. When I park up and turn the engine off but leave the music running while I’m still in the car, the system starts acting strangely. Every few seconds, it cuts out and then turns back on again. It also makes a strange, whirring noise during this process. I tried unplugging my phone to rule out any connectivity issues, but the problem continued. I didn’t notice this when I bought the car, likely because it only starts happening a few minutes after sitting idle, which I obviously didn’t do while viewing it on the forecourt. Just joined this group as I have exactly the same problem with the DAB radio on my wife’s 2018 A1. All the national DAB stations, with the exception of the BBC versions, aren’t available. I have been pulling my hair out trying to sort the issue out and it appears it isn’t just me! Let’s hope Audi UK can help. 🤞

That's really bad, and a sad reflection of the financial relationship between Audi AG, Audi UK, and the franchised dealers. Damage (cost exposure) limitation resulting in a total lack of customer care. For what it's worth, I can highly recommend A&A motors in Hull. No glossy showroom or promise of elevated technical expertise, but they know what they are doing in Audis and are good at giving second opinions when trust in the Audi dealer(s) is flaky. I don't know why I'm paying for the highest level Audi Used Warranty to be honest!

Once the main dealer told me my car could potentially be off the road for months as replacement alternators were on back order in Germany I went out and bought a 2011 Hyundai i10 the next morning as I couldn't manage without any transport. This was literally the cheapest car available within walking distance of home. My A8 was repaired before I even picked up the Hyundai and the £3,800 purchase price went down the drain. I also had to pay for the new alternator as the dealer and Audi refused to acknowledge the extended warranty. The battle with Audi Executive Office became a nightmare and once I threatened them with legal action they refused assistance altogether. After involving VOSA and my local paper they agreed to honour the warranty if I withdrew all legal threats. Considering I could have lost my life in the initial breakdown Audi couldn't have been more inconsiderate towards me if they tried. A steering arm was damaged in the recovery and I also had to put time and effort into getting my money back for that. The whole protracted saga showed Audi's true colours.

Just a bit puzzled. Are there different versions of DAB+. I used to have Gold UK and I think that's been on+ for quite some time. Nick

Hi All, This is the second time this has happened with my car and it is at very random times as there is not pattern to this happening. I went to start the car today (Q2 30 TDI S-tronic) and the engine was not cranking. No noise, nothing. I look down at the dash and notice the glow plug warning light flashing. I turned the ignition off and on and boom, started first time with no power loss and no warning lights. I decided to scan with the reader and there are no codes stored... I am stumped by this one because it seems every one has this issue when driving along but I have the issue before I even start the car, then there being no fault codes stored is odd as well. Has anyone had this issue and can anyone point me in the right direction?

It's an almost religious thing for me, when I start the car. How did your story end ?

I'm toying with the idea of de-chroming my car. It's just a matter of personal taste but I think black trim would work really well with the aquamarine blue and give the car a sleeker and more modern look. I've found suitable replacements for the front grills but nothing for the window/door trims, does anybody know of a supplier? I've already tried ebay. Failing that does anyone know how well the existing trim takes paint?

I agree with Steve, it sounds like it should be a relatively straightforward problem to diagnose and fix for a decent mechanic. Not necessarily cheap but definitely run of the mill I would've thought.

I would like to remind newer readers to keep deactivating your start/stop system to reduce the load on the starter alternator. I have just under a year now before the seven year warranty runs out. Failure after that is a ticking financial time bomb.

Same for my 2016 A6. I live in Northern Ireland so had assumed it was a geographical issue as I can still get local stations and all the BBC National stations but no Talksport/Radio X etc.

Where does that fit

I wonder if a firmware update can be applied to allow for the current adapter to support DAB+ with the mpeg4 codec, or is the only option is going to be replacing some kit? Either way some clarity from Audi themselves would be appreciated. As currently it’s ‘radio silence’ no pun intended.

I'd recommend you speak to Audi to see if they can do a reset.

If under warranty get them to fix it. It'll need a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. When was the gearbox last serviced?
