This stream auto-updates

  1. Past hour
  2. I wonder if a firmware update can be applied to allow for the current adapter to support DAB+ with the mpeg4 codec, or is the only option is going to be replacing some kit? Either way some clarity from Audi themselves would be appreciated. As currently it’s ‘radio silence’ no pun intended.

I'd recommend you speak to Audi to see if they can do a reset.
  4. If under warranty get them to fix it. It'll need a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. When was the gearbox last serviced?
  5. Today
  6. Just joined. Exactly the same issue here, DAB SDL stopped working about three weeks ago. Reception had been sporadic since 2023. It seems the radio fitted (Bose system) isn't DAB+ compatible. Mentioned it at my last service and was told no faults recorded. Like others here I'm on software version RMC_EU_P16342. DAB+ stand alone adapter under consideration ...
  7. I'd recommend getting a second opinion from another garage
  8. Yes, I favour compressed air over wire. If the drain tube is plastic it could be pierced by wire at a bend.
  9. it so frustrates me when i read so many times about a garage diagnosing something and it still does not fix the problem.note the garage says( according to their diagnostics) to cover themselves.🤕
  10. You need a full VCDS scan first, then you can see the specific error code regards engine management light. This could be a wire break, which is an auto-electrician job. Removing the bumper, takes 30 minutes - so don't be freaked out by that. Dash out is a different ball-game and I personally wouldn't entrust with anyone other than a specialist (non main-dealer). Working clean, space in workshop, anti-marring tools, etc.
  11. Hello Michael, I’ve edited out the inappropriate language bit. Regards, Gareth.
  12. Welcome Peter. To some extent, I think you have answered your own question, by saying that the car hasn’t given you any trouble over its 187K miles. This equates to not having had to spend too much on it to date, but now it’s catch up time, and it needs some funds spent on it wisely (in caps). So if you scrap it, what are you going to do for on going transport? Of it were mine, I would be search out a trusted localish Audi independent and seeking advice there. Perhaps you can come back to us with an answer to the question. Kind regards, Gareth.
  13. Compressed air at around 30psi should sort it. Kind regards, Gareth.
  14. Take a photograph of the build sticker, normally located in boot in spare wheel well next to space saver. Try the site https://igorweb.org/equidec.aspx Type in codes followed by ; and [space] to separate. Codes will have numerical 0, not O for Oscar.
  15. Yes mine has too. This change over from DAB to DAB+ fits with everyone’s experience of losing the channels at the end of March.
  16. Hey guys, my car keeps coming up with drive system error intermittently and the amber engine light remains on at all time, I took it to the garage, they plugged it in and found that my air intake flaps are not sending any information to the car. The garage said that this job is a big job as they have to take the front bumper off and potentially remove the dash and said it could cost into the thousands to fix, is this correct or do use think the garage are taking me for a ride? Thanks

  18. I only recently noticed I had lost some of my favourite radio stations, Heart 70s and Heart 80s (please don’t judge!😂).. my Audi Q3, 2018, went In for M.O.T. in the dealership today, and I mentioned it.. I was advised to wait a few days, and if the problem didn’t clear, to contact them again .. I’m so glad I found this group, I thought I was going mad.. I’m not technically minded, so I thought I must have pushed a wrong button!!..🙈🙈.. Thank you to those who are taking this further.. I eagerly await at updates..
  19. @scottiecb19 Do you have any videos of the engine running, so we can compare to see if it's the same problem?
  20. My cars got a CD, SD and DAB combined so that fits. 🙄
  21. i have the same problem with a 2017 q3 .. spoke to dealership monday .. and are getting inundated with calls with the same problem .. he said they had a car in today put in on scanner showed no faults .. he said mine was the first 2017 model with this problem .. most have been 2015 .. he said to call back in 2 weeks if still not working .. and for a recall has to be agreed by audi in germany . surely they will have. a recall on this problem ?? but everyone need to call local dealer to let them know
  22. I don't have anything to suck it with. I think I'll just keep trying to push the wire through from the top and see how it goes. I was also thinking if I could try and blow some compressed air through it, but not sure if this could cause any damage or not.
  23. I have a 2016 A6 Avant and I’m experiencing the same issue!! first noticed it when I could no longer receive Talk Sport!!! Tried re-scanning, no joy!!!!
  24. I have an Audi A4 cabriolet S line FSI 2L with a 56 plate. It has, without the shadow of a doubt, been the best car I have ever had, and I have had a few. I have had it since new and driven around Europe and it has given me no trouble until now, at 187,000 miles. The engine management light appeared and the garage have replaced the purge valve (dont really know what that is) and sensor, as a result of what the diagostics told them. But it is running like a tractor. It chugs along, I cant get it above 30 and it won't change up. The garage say that it needs further diagnostics but I just know that, and the possible remedy, will cost more than I can afford and well more than the car is worth. I love that car and can't bear the idea it will end up in a scrap yard. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do to give it further life, if not for me, for someone else?
  25. Info about DAB+ What Is The Difference Between DAB+ and DAB? DAB+ is a further development of the DAB standard, thus assumes all functions of DAB, but offers additional benefits. The technical difference is the type of audio coding, ie the two standards use different methods for the preparation before and after the transfer of data. While DAB uses MPEG-1 Layer-2, DAB MPEG-4 HE-AAC v2, the most efficient audio compression used worldwide. Also found this on another forum: "It seems most of D1 national has now gone to Dab+ which means the audio on the channels is now He-aacv2. This unfortunately means head units with old chipsets cannot decode the new audio. Our Audi A1 is affected but not the A3 (both 2018). The A3 can decode the new audio so is ok. There is a chance audi dealers could charge £140 if you take the car for inspection when in fact there is no fault. The problem is D1 going to Dab+. Have just contacted Bauer and they have confirmed the switchover of the channels. Other Audi models affected could be Q3 2017 or anything before 2018 with a head unit that has cd sd dab combined which is installed in the dash rather than separate units for dab etc."
  26. Hi, Is there any way to find what spec my s5 is? what factory extra options does it have? i.e., heads up display, 360 camera
  27. Yep thousands, I think something will be announced shortly. This is a big issue, surely other cars are having issues as well?
  28. Evening All, I’m trying to find the location coolant temperature sensor for my 2012 Audi Q7 3.0 diesel. I’ve been having hot start issues - replaced starter, battery, cam shaft position sensor and o2 sensor. Mechanic is perplexed as car starts and runs perfectly until you drive for a long period, stop the car and try and start it again. Reading it could be engine coolant temperature sensor, fuel system related (running out of other things to test!) Cant find anywhere that gives correct position for the engine coolant temperature sensor. Any ideas / images much appreciated.
