Bonehill started following Loose breather hose
-
I found the crankcase breather hose on my 2018 A3 35 tfsi connected at one end but lying randomly loose at the other. I suspect it may not have been replaced after Audi did a spark plug change. If it had simply blown/ popped off would it lie as in the pic attached?

2018 SQ7 - rough idle on cold starts/ engine judder
scottiecb19 replied to peetee7's topic in Audi Q7 Club
Hi @Elmir sq7 As mentioned above, I've read that this is a software issue and many people have had their software updated and it solved the problem. OBD11 says there is an updated software for mine, however when it went back to Audi recently they disputed this and said I was on the latest version - go figure. So I've still got the cold start issue too. -

2018 SQ7 - rough idle on cold starts/ engine judder

Hello, I'm calling from Sarajevo Bosnia... I have a problem with my 2016 Audi SQ7. On cold start, the Audi starts shaking a lot, the RPMs jump up and down and after 1 minute it stops. I fixed the DPF, EGR, intake valves... the injectors are all working as they should. When I removed the DPF, on cold start, there's a lot of white smoke coming out of the vehicle while there's that shaking, and when it stops, a little white smoke comes out. Has anyone had a similar case? Do you have a video of how the problem sounds and looks like? -

GIO_AYR started following Matrix headlights via the MyAudi app?
-
Hello everyone, I have just placed an order for a new Q6 S-Line Quattro through my salary sacrifice scheme, the car is in stock and I haven’t been able to spec anything on the car. All I know is it has the standard S-Line wheels and the free solid grey colour. I previously bought an S5 and specked the car with Matrix headlights. I think they were part of the Sound and Vision pack for the S5 so when I saw the Q6 came with the Sound and Vision pack, I was delighted as I presumed it would come with the Matrix headlights. Unfortunately after ordering the car, I realised the Sound and Vision pack has changed, either that or its model specific, so I’m absolutely gutted that it doesn’t have them. A neighbour told me that his colleague had been able to retrospectively add these through the MyAudi app. My question is, is this correct as this certainly wasn’t an option when I bought my S5 in 2018. If this is correct, could somebody please let me know how much this would cost to add as I would love to do this, as long as Audi don’t price themselves out of the market. Any help at all would be very much appreciated. Thanks 👍🏼😁

Hi could be an earthing problem on that circuit for the bulbs or a corroded wire on the pin blocks worth checking the connectors, may be as simple as hosing them down with electric contact cleaner then check the lives and earths with a multimeter. Steve.

A6 C7 Wheel Spacers and Lowering Advice
Stevey Y replied to ZerosGiven's topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
Hi Duncan did you actually read the posted reply properly, the guy was offering you alternative means of insurance should your company decline to insure you with the spacers fitted, why dont you ask your existing insurance company if they will accept this modification before going ahead and running in to a wall when they wont do it, most insurance companies view these types of modification very suspiciously as they may well unsettle the cars steering and suspension geometry, each insurance company has its own team of mechanical engineers who assess the possible impact of such changes, you seem to be adamant that you will do this anyway but you have not had the answer you wanted, just sound basic advice which you dont seem to want or pay any attention to, I wish you luck. Appreciate the offer, thanks. Do you think there will be much of an issue? Have you spaced a car previously? -

Was thinking just 10mm on the back and 5mm on the fronts. You think this will much of an issue? I would plan to have it all aligned after, so should sort any issues? -
Many thanks for all the replies, can I ask whether the cheaper, £30-40 diagnostic units are worth the money? Do they all do more or less the same or do I need Audi specific one? Again thanks
-
Hi I did get it fixed but I never got the chance to sell it as it rolled off of my local garage forecourt into the brick wall across the road, electro mechanical handbrake failure caused by a voltage drop on the battery which is another favourite trick of the cars from 2014-2017, no the price you have been quoted is not normal as I never paid more than £1600 for the cooler unit to be replaced bearing in mind you could only get the parts from Audi at around £700, now you can get aftermarket parts around £450, my advice would be to get the adblue mapped out and then the cooler fixed as cheaply as possible then get rid of it ASAP, beautifully made car body wise and a joy to drive BUT parts are ruinous price wise and as mine was used as a cab frequent, got a Passat estate now not as glamorous but is as nice to drive and any parts are about a third of the price. Steve.

Looks like it’s reset itself so all good 🤞
-
Thanks Steve, did you pay to get yours fixed before you sold it? I've just the quote in from the garage, £3620!! Is that normal for P2002 and P20E8 fault codes??

Red Robbo started following No oil lamp with ignition on (engine off)
-
After 4 years ownership, i only noticed recently that with ignition on, but engine off/never started, i don't get the red oil can warning (low pressure) light. All the other usual suspects illuminate as they should (engine management light, handbrake, abs, airbag, steering, brake fluid, glow plug and red triangle with exclamation ❗ mark), but no oil can symbol illuminates. Is this a quirk of the A4 B9 2.0 TDI (2017), or have i a ropey wire off the oil pressure sensor? There are no warning lamps illuminated after the car has done it's own diagnostic check, and the engine is started, they all extinguish as they should, plus OBDeleven shows no fault codes (apart from a problem with the heated and cooled cup holder - i don't have this, and i didn't know it was a thing anyway! But the code always crops up!). So, is it correct (no oil can warning light with just ignition on)? Or is something amiss, even though no faults show? I've never had a car that doesn't illuminate the low oil pressure oil can lamp with ignition on. Oil check via the mmi service check is spot on too. Maybe i'm about to answer my own question here, but could it be something to do with the oil level sensor playing a part in it(?) Cheers

Well, 2 months later and it has decided to just start working again... without me doing a thing! With the manual control to put it up, I've greased the hinges and pivots, so wondering if it had somewhat seized for a while, and then unstuck itself...

Saj786 started following S3 door light gone off !!
-
Hi guys, new on here so apologies if I’m doing this all wrong. Today I was putting some puddle lights on , now on the rear door behind drivers door I unplugged the red light to check the light (all worked b4 hand), I unclipped the light but when I plugged it bk in the light doesn’t work now, neither does the puddle light, all other doors are ok. I could do with help, I’ve replaced the bulb no joy, does anyone know what fuse number I need to check as manual does not really explain, or if anyone knows what I have done…. It’s driving me nuts as all other lights are fine , any help would be appreciated
