This stream auto-updates

  1. Past hour
  2. Will do, like you say too coincidental. The fact it's the same issue and timeline makes it look like a tech glitch or in need of a software update.
  3. Today
  4. No. I'd say either the lacquer is too thin to spread around sharp edges or the preparation/priming was inadequate.
  5. You'll need the wiring harness for the buttons. My advice would be to take all the parts from donor/breaker car.
  6. Thanks for the replys. Would the spray wax at the car wash cause this or the stuff they put on the tyers.
  7. Hi All, looking at buying a C8 Avant 72 reg. Is this year ok or should we look for newer? It will be a diesel for motorway miles around 17-18k miles/year cheers
  8. Hello Everyone Thank you for your help. Very sorry to read of all your problems, but happy for those who got it sorted by Audi. Few things ive read that are concerning: Audi unwillingness to acknowledge the fundamental problem. Ive called Audi UK, 3 different dealerships all with no clear knowledge of the extended warranty. The hit and miss approach and action by dealerships is frustrating and shows lack of customer aftercare. I cant be waiting weeks and weeks for an answer and then more weeks for the repair. So have decided to repair direct with good mechanics at our cost and then try to pursue audi for reimbursement, on the basis that they fully acknowlwdge their is a major problem with the design and alternator. Interesting to read all your comms with aufi uk, audi europe, bbc, etc. So will aim to collate everything and send my own letter. Will aim to gather all details, names reference on this forum as evidence of a major problem. Cant say when i will get it done, but i will, feel for you all. Wishing you the best of luck on getting problems resolved. Hx
  9. Chaps, may I suggest you contact your local dealerships and inform them of the issue as well as referencing this forum thread? @Mthom it was D1 national I noticed it on first, but there will be others not working too. Classical & BBC DAB stations works for me but it flips to FM I believe. Far too coincidental now.
  10. Hi folks, quick question, I have 2008 Audi A3 , 2.0 TDI, bkd engine, manual gearbox, s-line. Have s-line 3 spoke steering wheel, but without radio control buttons, wonder is Audi A3 and other model Audi steering wheels with radio buttons are compatible? Any advice to find one ? Assume without air bag, as I could use mine one. I know about steering ECU under steering control unit , a while ago, I've installed cruise control, and I've replaced that ECU, and coded in order to work . Can't remember was that car , which I took off that ECU had steering control or not(have feelings it had,but not sure), also that was a bit newer car, as high beem light stalker had to fiddle a bit with, in order to get properly working. Wonder, I could see part number through diagnostics?? And then find out it supports steering wheel with buttons.. Thanks.
  11. The plastic dome circled top left. Assumed it was a light.
  12. How strange
  13. I've just had the same issue on my q3. All stations are there but the D1 National ones are not working, no sound then when you move the volume it shows the no connection symbol. The only one that works is classic which flips to FM. The BBC ones work on Dab though. Mine stopped working roughly last Saturday as well.
  14. Do please let us know the outcome.
  15. Who'd have guessed it? Even though you have explained it the symbol still makes no sense to me.
  16. It looks like the lacquer is lifting. I'd say water is getting in from the edges of the metal where the lacquer is thinnest.
  17. What light? I can't see a light on.
  18. Whether it needs to be serviced is debatable. Given that it is now out of guarantee you have nothing to lose by changing oil and filter. As I am fond of saying, nobody suffered a gearbox failure by changing the oil too often.
  19. I found out what it was😂, it was some kind of time auto update. Somehow I found a time menu I had never come across before which allowed me to uncheck it 🥴
  20. I've had a look online but not found anything. Is there any information on the my Audi app?
  21. Hi all, Recently noticed a problem with the chrome trim on the rear bumper where it appears the plastic coating on the chrome trim is peeling off. Is this a common problem with A5’s and any idea of a solution? New ones appear to be over £300 just for the part but wondering if there is a better solution or repair option. No idea what’s caused it, whether it’s the jet wash or just change in weather.
  22. Are they diamond cut? If so it might be corrosion happening under the lacquer
  23. No way! Me too! They're reasonably priced. It's a while since I had a service has my a6 is off the road needing an engine. There's also vee dub near branstons.
  24. Hi all As above / recap:- 1) 7 year warranty extension (from registration date) applies based on certain (build) PR codes. 2) Only covers Belt Starter Generator, no other related issues (12v battery, 48v battery, wiring) 3) Dealers /Audi UK are still in damage limitation / cost avoidance mode. If it's totally failed and you've been towed in, they might replace the BSG now. Or you might get into a drawn out (weeks and weeks) fight of diagnosis and trial and error. Speaking from experience and current knowledge.
  25. It’s very strange and I don’t think we are the only 2 who’ve been affected if it’s a radio transmission issue
  26. Warranty extention for starter generators.pdfI don’t have the document easily to hand but copies have been posted before on this thread if you look back. i am not sure the warranty extends to the battery
  27. Sounds about right, I have sent you a private message, if you would like I can send you photo and video of the issue to see if it aligns up. Like I say im taking it into the garage but very interesting, at first I thought maybe a radio mast was down in my area but its been like this a week now.
