Andy Dodson started following Dash cams

HI Have had Nextbase front and back cams for quite a while on our previous car, always worked a treat although luckily never had to call on them for evidence. Very easy to install as long as you can get to the fuse box. Have opted for the Audi kit on our new buggy as I didn't fancy trying to force wires behind the roof and pillar lining. If you fit it yourself, I found one of those plastic tools for scraping a freezer clean worked wonders to push the wires securely in. We removed the Nextbase before trading the car in, it will no doubt be on e bay shortly. Good luck Andy

Thanks Tim, Any particular reason why you were unable to update the forum at some point earlier? Kind regards, Gareth.

So I ended up getting a new unit from autodoc. Car has got to go back to the garage to resolve an error. It seems that the unit i bought didn't have a fan so they have got to take the fan out of the old unit. I did find a couple of places offering to replace just the lense. However they were quoting around a week which meant being without the car. I have read in a couple of places about people having condensation issues after having just the lense replaced.

Anybody got ideas as to what might be draining my battery?
gromlog replied to Shubz8p's topic in Audi A3 (8P) Forum
I'd say just ask electrician, I've had such issue once and it was cooling fan that did not go to sleep and kept draining battery - changed to new and issue disappeared. But again ask electrician, and if he can't find issue get a new electrician xd -
Thanx I've heard about them. Do they perform well? .

Matthewjg started following Audi a5 S Line. Loud screeching beep coming from inside.
-
This is on a 2018 Audi a5 S Line. The issue is randomly a high pitch screeching beep noise is coming from inside the vehicle. I am not sure as to what this is because there is no faults or any issues on the instrument cluster eg engine management lights or anything so it’s not a beep from them. From what I have found I think it may be electrical of some kind since it seems to happen randomly but usually after some button click for example hazard lights button, window going down/up, boot opening etc. I don’t think it happens when the engine is running though but I’m not 100% on that. will attach a video of it because it is quite funny but annoying and really really loud nevertheless. if anyone has any answers or has had this before please let me know, thank you. I honestly cannot see why you don’t simply take the car to a couple of local bodyshops and get sensible estimates. If I was you, I’d snap the insurer’s hand off and just retain it and sort it at your leisure. To not do so would be plain bonkers. Regards, Gareth.

I’d be interested in this too. Not so keen on larger screen idea though

I had a similar leak and it turned out to be a worn valve cover gasket. Cleaned the area first to spot the fresh oil trail, which helped pinpoint the leak.

I had my Audi A3 2004 diesel automatic serviced and repairs done to front wheels. After getting it back the power steering doesn't work after a while, but works again for a while after restart. The garage mechanic cannot find how to sort out the problem. Any ideas please?

I am having the same problem with my Q3 (2018). I only bought the car on 20 Feb this year, and radio stations all worked OK for a few weeks. Then not. Thanks to those of you pursuing this.

Shubz8p started following 1.9tdi e (bls) DPF removal?

Dpf seems to be running out of life so I’m looking to get rid of it instead of replacing- but even having that done is costly. Anybody have experience or tips on DIY’ing it? I’m not worried about MOT for the time being, if that makes the job any easier. might get rid of the car before it’s even due.

Hi All, I am so happy I have seen this thread. I have a 2018 A6 and most of the DAB radio stations have stopped working, exactly same issues already mentioned on here. I had the same response from the dealership in that I would have to pay £140, just to run a diagnostic. I'll keep trying different things and share anything I find out and I'll keep an eye out in case anyone else does.

Just spoke to AudiUK via FB Messenger. I received a scripted response which was no use at all. “Hi thank you for contacting Audi UK. We are sorry to learn that you are experiencing issues with your DAB Radio, and we do apologise for the inconvenience this has caused you. We can confirm that you would need to get this issue diagnosed at your local Audi Centre to determine the main cause. Please be advised that you can locate your nearest Audi Centre by clicking on the link provided below, https://ow.ly/CIKQ20006Fs. We hope this information proves useful.”

Thank you for contacting Audi UK regarding the issue that you have with the DAB radio in your Q3. I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing these issues your vehicle. I would recommend that you take your vehicle to one of our Approved Audi Centres to be diagnosed. Our Audi trained technicians will diagnose any issues with your vehicle using the latest diagnostic equipment. If they discover an issue, they will discuss this with you and make any recommendations necessary. We are unable to diagnose issues remotely from the Customer Service Centre so would always request this as an initial step. Contact details for all Audi Centres can be found here: https://www.audi.co.uk/owners-area/locate-a-centre.html If your vehicle is outside of the manufacturer’s warranty or the cause of the issue is not a manufacturing defect, you may be charged for the diagnostic test. Please be advised that we cannot comment on what you have read on a third party forum as these are purely peoples opinions. I do hope the above information proves helpful. This case will now be closed, however, we value your feedback and would appreciate it if you could spare a few minutes to complete a survey about the service that I have provided which you may receive in the next few days. This survey is only about my performance as a Customer Relations Manager and not about the Audi processes, centres, or the outcome of the case.

I'm just quoting Google so may be wrong! If it is the case that all the D1 stations have formally moved over to DAB+ and its an issue with the actual units for pre 2018 models, then not sure what Audi can do, and I'd imagine there'll be a cost to upgrade the unit. The switch over is on the Digital radio companies rather than the manufacturers I believe. I'm just using the Global Player App and bluetoothing that through Media for the time being. Rob
