DanZ Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Hi all, I got the car 2 weeks now and I'm quite happy with it, only two things I don'l like: 1st- it seems that I cannot get a 100% confortable driving position no matter what. ( I wish the accelerator would be 5 cm forward- as if I adjust the seat for that, I can't get a good grip on the wheel, hope this makes sense) 2nd- and this is slightly worrying: only in 4th gear there is a slight vibrate while accelerating, you can't see it in the stick but you can feel it if you hold it with the hand. There is no odd sound audible and the car performs normally. Was wondering if that's normal and other users have it the same or it's the beginning of something bad? The car is a 2.0TDI 6gears manual with 45k on the clock. Thx guys!
Steve Q Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Welcome to the forum Dan, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) There's not much you can do with the first problem I'm affraid other than keep adjusting the seat and wheel settings to get the best position. In terms of the second problem it could be a gear linkage but I would just be guessing. My advice would be to speak to the garage where you bought the a3 and for them to have a look. My dad had an 8v 6 speed manual and I never recall of him or I having this issue when we drove it. Cheers Steve
DanZ Posted May 7, 2018 Author Posted May 7, 2018 Thanks Steve. Hopefully someone with a car similar to mine will have a feel for me please? As I said, if you look at the stick it does nothing but you can feel the vibration if you hold it. Thx
Joe evans Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Did you get find out the issue? I've got the same problem. Gear stick vibrating in 4th and gear stick is a bit stiff when selecting gears. thanks
