Hi,

I've just had the EGR valve replaced on my 2012 A3 2.0 TDI Sportback at a local garage, and they've said that the engine light can still come on for a while until the ECU gets used to the new part.  Is this right?  Seems strange to me.

They've already cleared the light once since the valve was replaced, but the light came on the next time I started the engine and hasn't gone off since.  They've told me to go back in a few days time to have it cleared again.

Has anyone else had this issue or are they having me on and could it be that they've caused another issue after replacing the valve?

Thanks.

Hi I have a a5 2.7tdi and just had the egr valve replaced and eml back on within 2 days, did you get any answer to why yours came back on?

It was the lambda sensor.  After having that done too the light didn't come back on.
