lovie Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 Hi. Newbie here and in typical newbie fashion I'm asking for help and advice on an issue that has probably been addressed a 100 times...so please don't berate me too much. So, a few weeks ago I bought my 2009 A5 Quattro Sport 3.0 TDI. I've bought the personalised number plate, spent a million pounds on detailing stuff, had a REVO stage 1 remap and had the wheels refurbished and it is beautiful. However....the steering wheel is SO ugly. My girlfriend has a 2006 A4 S-Line Cabriolet and her steering wheel looks and feels just right. I am looking for a similar styled wheel that can accommodate the "flappy paddles" and the usual thumb controls...and ideally not with an S-Line or S5 badge (because it isn't one of those). I've looked on eBay and Amazon but am confused with part numbers, fitment etc etc. Can anyone please shed some light or give me some advice. Many thanks in advance and I'm looking forward to being a part of this great community
Steve Q Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 Welcome to the forum Paul, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 i believe the similar aged a4 and a6 steering wheel will fit the a5 but you'll need to get it coded to your a5 🙂 cheers Steve
lovie Posted May 21, 2018 Author Posted May 21, 2018 Steve Q. Thank you for your reply. Good to know that the A4 steering wheel will fit. At least this will widen my choice. As for the coding, I would get it fitted professionally so I would assume that the company I use for all my Audi related mechanics would do this. All I have to do now is find a wheel with no badge on it. Thanks again.
niedzial1983 Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 just make sure you will buy steering wheel with 2 stage airbag . Single stage wont work
