dexterbuchanan1 Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 Bought 2nd hand my new baby has 2 different tyre sizes will this be a problem for the transmission or do i get the seller to change front tyres back to standard the label on door recommendation are 225/40/18 all round
WPAWS Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 i would of thought originally your car left the factory with 4 tyres exactly the same so if it was me i would fit them as Audi recommend 6 hours ago, dexterbuchanan1 said: recommendation are 225/40/18 all round
dexterbuchanan1 Posted June 17, 2018 Author Posted June 17, 2018 Thanks Paul iv just noticed it having had the car 2weeks will have a word with the garage i bougth it from hopeful they will change them for me
cliffcoggin Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 David. You have lower profile tyres at the front which means effectively the overall diameter is smaller, which in turn causes lower top speed/greater acceleration/greater fuel consumption. The lowering of the front end of the car may also have an effect on steering. I would get the tyres changed to the correct size.
dexterbuchanan1 Posted June 17, 2018 Author Posted June 17, 2018 Thanks cliff thats something i can share with the garage and hopefully they wont argue over as it could be a safety issue
dexterbuchanan1 Posted June 18, 2018 Author Posted June 18, 2018 Thanks for the advice, spoke to garage who sold me car(they werent aware of the differing size profile) this morning about tyres and they are happy to change front profile to the standard size free of charge(hats off to them)
cliffcoggin Posted June 18, 2018 Posted June 18, 2018 Glad to hear the garage has done the decent thing. 1
