pas5256 Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Hi all I've just got myself a 2007 a3 2.0 tdi sportback and am loving it so far.. I've noticed that the fans seem to run quite a lot even when I've just got in car and can notice them everytime I leave the car. Any help would be appreciated Thank you.
Magnet Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 Hello Paul, Eliminating the basic silly things first :- Are you sure the air conditioning is off? It is off when the Econ button shows a red light. Well at least if the 2007 model is the same as the 2006. Kind regards, Gareth.
pas5256 Posted June 22, 2018 Author Posted June 22, 2018 Hi air con is not on at all and still doing it?
Clunkybhoy Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 Hey, does this take about 15-20 mins to stop after you're out of the car? Mine is doing it as well. Is the smaller fan working? Mine has stopped working, and the larger one of the 2 is running on and off even after the ignition is off!
Reilly808 Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 I had this before and it was water in the main fuse box in the engine bay. Replaced the two main fuses and problem was solved. I had drained and cleaned the box out and drilled a small hole in the vase of the fuse box so that any future water would drain out rather than fill the box. Thanks Steve
cliffcoggin Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 That's good to know for the future Stephen. Is the lid of your fuse box not sealing?
Reilly808 Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 Apparently is a common issue with the fuse boxes that the seal is pants! Luckily my local garage I use the guys in there are VAG master techs
