RL60 RAY Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Hi, As the title suggests, this may possibly be the most trivial post topic ever to be raised but I wonder if any other members have experienced this. On my C7 A6 black edition why is it that my MMI screen sometimes chooses not to close when I switch off the engine and exit the car? Just something that puzzles me and wondered if there is something in the settings or any other thing that I can do to ensure the MMI screen closes every time? Many thanks in anticipation. RL60 RAY
Envy Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Mine has done this in the past - I would put it down to either a software bug or a signal not getting through You will notice that it does not normally retract until you open the door to exit the vehicle - either the impulse created by opening the door does not get to the microprocessor that controls the servos driving the display mechanism or the Software logic had a void in it that can sometimes (only sometimes) does not handle the command to retract the screen leaving it in the deployed position. TBH I would worry more about SUB 3 year servicing costs - Just been quoted £1050 for a 38000 mile service! Car is 3 at end of Jan and it would be near £750. Why are Audi cheaper when they are 3 years plus?
RL60 RAY Posted July 27, 2018 Author Posted July 27, 2018 Hi Envy, Thanks for the reply and I have noticed the screen not closing till opening the door. I have now taken to closing manually if it doesn't close automatically when I open the door as for some reason I like it closed when locking the car up. As for servicing costs, I firmly believe dealers make their money from the servicing of vehicles they sell, rather than from the vehicles they sell. Would like to know the model you have, I have the 2litre TDI Ultra Black S Tronic edition which I love. RL60 Ray
