oscar Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 Hi My name is Andy I am new to the forum. I'm working on an Audi A3 with a 1.6 litre engine. There are multiple electrical issues happening with the car: 1. The Radio is not working. 2. The Wipers are not working. 3. The Horn is not working. 4. The back door is not opening. 5. The AC compressor is not coming on. 6. There is no communication to the ABS Module 7. All the light on the dashboard are staying on 8. The brake warning light keeps flashing Can anyone shed some light on how I can proceed to repair these issues?
Steve Q Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 Welcome to the forum Andy, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 i know this may sound like an odd question but are the floor carpets wet in the front? also it might be worth you getting an auto electrician to have a look? cheers Steve
Magnet Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 Hello Andy, Well worth following Steve's suggestion. Has it been the rainy season in Trinidad? Not really very up on this, but does this earlier version have a body control unit (BCU)? If so it might well be worth checking the connections onto this. Kind regards, Gareth.
oscar Posted October 21, 2018 Author Posted October 21, 2018 thanks for the info will look at the BCU, sorry for slow response with all the rain we are having the wifi was down. thanks
oscar Posted November 8, 2018 Author Posted November 8, 2018 hello i have been working on this car off and on for the last few weeks. what i found was missing and blown fuses for the horn ,radio, etc. wiper was not working because the hood latch switch was broken. what i have left is the ABS pump has a short keeps blowing the fuse and the ac compressor won't engage. the plug to the compressor pluged in or not shows only 9.4 volts and the fans don't come on. i'm thinking there is a relay or control module . does anyone know where . thanks
