Turbo problem

I was going to have the actuator changed at my local garage but they say I can’t just change the actuator, I have to change the whole turbo, is this correct?

Hi Stephen, I believe this to be the case. My advice would be to go for a genuine Audi turbo either new or reconditioned as some of the aftermarket turbos have been known to fail within a year.
