Rear drivers side not opening from exterior

Wife comes in tells me the rear drivers side back doors broken, turns out it can now only be opened from inside the car.

Is it a stuck pin, dodgy electrics? the handle does naff all, I get the feeling someones been 'ruff housing' my pride and joy 🤨
