bald bloke Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 Hi I’m new here so excuse me if this is in the wrong place, the problem I have is that I’ve recently purchased an A5 convertible 2.0 tdi 177 bhp and wish to put a tow bar on the back for the small caravan we have but apparently the cooling system needs modifications such as a twin fan a new module and something else which escapes me otherwise according to Audi it’ll overheat with the extra workload, anybody know anything about this please ? I’m gutted as I’ve done my homework beforehand and apart from lack of space the car was deemed to be a good tow car. Thanks in advance.
Steve Q Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 Can't say I've heard about this but a twin electric fan set up can't hurt. How big is the caravan? Cheers Steve
bald bloke Posted February 9, 2019 Author Posted February 9, 2019 But it will hurt my pocket as the cheapest quote I have is £750 Audi want £1,100 !! It’s only a relatively small van compared to most you see, I think we’ll suck it and see for a while and keep our eye on the temp gauge with a few local trips to begin with before we venture abroad.
