Aircon not working

Just purchased a A4 cabriolet and the aircon doesn't work also the mgs is reading - 9 ,i have read it could be the ambient temperature sender sensor has anyone got any thoughts, it's a 2tfsi 2007

Simple things first Richard. Have you had the gas pressure checked/ topped up?

Thanks  ,I have not had it gased. this morning the temperature reading was minus 9 ,i have read posts that the ambient temperature sender sensor might stop the aircon working if faulty.

Hello Richard,

It’s probably time to stop Googling and simply get the system flushed and regassed, since it has to be done anyway. The people carrying out this procedure usual thoroughly check the system anyway.
