Ben Audi A3 Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 So just before Christmas, my A3 stutters and cuts out on me. The AA told me that it could be the injectors "... but they never go on petrol cars ...". He tried changing the coil pack, took out the spark plug and yes the injector was flooding cylinder 1.The fault codes were suggesting Cylinder 1 low pressure and Cylinder 2 came up the second time he checked. So he got me to a garage as the car wouldn't start. They said "how strange, it shouldn't be the injectors ... (wait for it) ... they never go on petrol cars ...". They looked for a day and although the car was running they changed the Pressure Control Valve as the fault codes suggested this may be at fault. The fault codes were now suggesting Cylinder 2 and 3 low pressure. The car then ran for about 500 miles with no issue. A couple of months later it stuttered and cut out again, I left it for 5 minutes and it started again, with no stuttering. The garage found Cylinder 3 low pressure fault codes. They said if I can get it to them when the engine light was flashing and the car was stuttering, they may be able to find the problem. So I drove off. Another couple of hundred miles later, it happened again. I knew of a different garage that I could crawl the car to so I took it there. They found Cylinder 3 fault codes and suggested it was an injector issue "... but ... (yes you guessed it) ... they never go on petrol cars ...". Enough was enough. I took it to Audi as none of this made any real sense. Funnily enough, after giving them a diary of these events, they told me what I told them! Although they have given me a 20% discount, I'm still not happy (there's no pleasing some people). Yes the car is out of warranty but surely an injector shouldn't go within 51k on a 5 year old car? Anyone got any advice please? Anyone successfully taken Audi up on a matter like this?
