Phone book memory limits

Hi.  I picked up an A5 S Line Sportback yesterday and I'm still finding my way around the controls.  I use an iphone 6, with Google contacts. The phonebook on the dash only lists 1250 contacts from A-J, and not the full list.  I have about 2000 contacts, I'm self employed doing I.T. work so there are customers that I may only deal with every few years in my phone.     

Can anyone tell me if there is a limit to the phonebook and if so, if there is a way round it?  I'd rather not remove contacts from the phone as I like to know who I'm answering the phone to.
