Double din in A3 8P?

Hi guys, I've bought a Pioneer SPH DA120 for my 8P. The guy I bought it from told me its come out of a 8P as it's got the fitting kit and everything included but I've taken it to a few audio shops and they say it cant be fitted as its double din and the 8P is only for single? Can anyone help/has anyone fitted in theres?

You can either get a double or single cage for the A3 but this means if you have a double you lose the dashboard cup holder and need a new switch set and air con unit
