Magnetic Interior Part

Hi,

I've had an A5 sports back for a couple of months now I've just been cleaning it and found a strange round magnetic rubber covered part under the drivers seat. It is obviously a thing of purpose I just cannot find out where its meant to be or understand what it is. Any help would be great.
