Audi A8 2007 won't start

My 2007 A8 won't start . I've put a new battery in and  it still won't start . It's coming up on dash board to put the car into park but it's in park . The clock and mileage and that message flash on and off and continue to when the key is removed . There's a clicking noise coming through the key when it's in the ignition .The radio and lights work but nothing else is working.  Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm wondering if this is either an imobiliser issue. Have you tried starting it with the spare key?
