Paul Godfrey Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 I have a 2003 Audi TT . Recently the key fob failed to open boot or car necessitating the manual opening of the car door and immediately starting the engine to prevent the alarm from sounding. I replace the battery at an approved Audi dealer. It lasts about a week working perfectly and then gradually fails. I go back to Audi dealer and spend £135 having the vehicle checked out and keys reprogrammed . They replace the battery again. Again this works for about a week and gradually fails. Audi have no idea what's wrong and suggest maybe a new key (£250) might work. Anyone got any ideas why the battery should fail so fast ?
Magnet Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 Hello Paul, From the school of simple things first:- Replace the battery with a quality make one such as Duracell etc. Worth the small investment. Yes, I know Audi has replaced it, so...., but satisfy yourself from a known starting point. Surprising how many use Poundland’s best! Kind regards, Gareth.
