CK1
Good Evening This is my 1st Post please be nice! and I hope you can help me with a question or advice. I have brought a lovely Audi A3 1.9 TDI (57) in march Drives amazing Love it a-lot.When I brought it,It had LED Error free bulbs and H7 Halogens bulbs already fitted, however the side lights never worked ,about a week later one of the LED wedge lights wasn't working so I ordered some new H7 xenon bulbs from eBay! that came with error free led wedge lights thought i was being productive with my buying .I have changed the lights and now none of the wedge lights or side lights are working if one bulb is out does this cause the whole unit not to work?. also why weren't side lights ever working in the first place? I am not getting any dash errors, i have checked the fuses and they are fine if any one could offer any advise Id really appreciate it
cliffcoggin
Carissa. If the side lights were defective when you bought it, and it was from a dealer, take it back and get him to fix it. Unless MOT rules have changed recently the side lights must work by law.
CK1
It was a private sale.I have also checked the main beams they are LED H7 could this be the problem??
cliffcoggin
Sorry I can't help with this sort of electrical fault. Do you know if your lights have been modified from original? I ask because my A3 is also 2007 yet it appears to have tungsten filament lamps.
CK1
My lights have definitely been modified, the main beam still has Led bulbs, wedge lights in the side lamps were also led I’m thinking I may have a wiring issue.
Steve Q
This does sound like a wiring issue to me or maybe a fusebox issue. I'm guessing you've checked the fuses etc. Cheers Steve
cliffcoggin
I had to look up wedge lamps as I am unfamiliar with them. It would seem the bolb holder would have to have been changed, which in turn means some sort of modified connection to the original wiring loom. I would look at the integrity of those connectors first of all.

I had a thought this evening as the headlights were working before this may not be a wiring issue or.However one of the bulbs were working previously iv brought a new set of bulbs for two reasons previous bulbs were not the best of quality and secondly the previous bulbs used to work before i have some Osram Ultralife (64210ULT) H7 Upgrade Bulb and Philips White Vision 501 W5W White Xenon Effect 4300K im hoping these work
