Mick 1 Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Hi my name is Mick I am new to the forum and could really do with some help. My roof would only release then stopped. I attempted to do it manually it will release but not push down. Any ideas or help please much appreciated. Thanks Mick
Steve Q Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 The first thing I'd do is check there's nothing blocking the mechanism. I would argue it's not a motor/pump issue if it's doing the same thing when you do it manually. Cheers Steve
Mick 1 Posted May 6, 2020 Author Posted May 6, 2020 Thanks Steve. Have you any idea of the most likely place

Have you any idea of the most likely place I would look in the boot, behind the rear seats etc. You'd be surprised how many items get dropped and you don't realise it. I remember a case where it was a shoe that had jammed the mechanism. Cheers Steve
HoodTech Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 Mick, go into the boot on the N/S and remove the lining cover. There will be a brass pressure release screw that must be unscrewed (anti-clockwise) to allow manual operation of the roof. Also check for water ingress in each boot corner on these, it is very common and the main reason as to why the limit switch clusters seize on this model. Bare in mind when the roof is over halfway through the cycle the header catches re-engage to prevent any interference the headlining. You really need some live data to ascertain which of the various readouts are at fault. Hopefully this helps.
