Timbo1979 Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 Having an issue with my 2.0tdi audi 07. It’s blowing white smoke that smells like diesel/paraffin but only on tick over if you rev it the smoke clears. I had the turbo changed a year ago but have started hearing a whistle when putting my foot down and have had the egr off and cleaned it as was solid but still this white smoke. This is my first diesel and having owned it just over a year it’s starting to drive me nuts and help or info would be greatly appreciated
Magnet Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 Hello Tim, The symptoms you describe are typical of injector/s issues, although could also be other faults. If this were mine, I would be seeking out a trusted local diesel specialist rather than a normal local garage. There is a fairly simple basic test for the injector efficiency. Kind regards, Gareth.
audia4b5kev Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 had same problem with mine sorted out with changing injector 1
audia4b5kev Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 plus if one of the glow plugs is worn this happens to
Magnet Posted July 17, 2020 Posted July 17, 2020 Glow plugs just come in circuit at temperatures below 5 degrees C, Kev? My money would be on a simple leak-back test on the injectors. Kind regards, Gareth.
