VinnyboyRacer-Notat50 Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 HI There, I have a 2011 A5 Soft Top which won't go down. Magnets in the boot are touching, windows go partially down. Top box drops into boot to provide space then all I can here is a clicking relay type sound from the left side where the gear mechanism is for dropping the basket. If I pop the cylinders to open manually then try electric again it will lift the rear window then stop . Again clicking sound can be heard. Help please if possible.
Steve Q Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 The first thing I would look to see if there's anything trapped stopping the roof from operating as this will be the cheapest fix first off. Cheers Steve
VinnyboyRacer-Notat50 Posted August 7, 2020 Author Posted August 7, 2020 Thanks for the advice Steve, Ive had a really good look and there appears to be nothing getting in the way. Its really odd, its the lifting of the rear window which it gets stuck at . but it all works to put it away if I manually open everything. I think its the popping of the cylinders that doesn't happen. Any suggestions before the dreaded trip to the workshop.
frankc Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 This is a bit silly really as I do not yet have an Audi, and I bet you have it fixed by now anyway. Was it by any chance a failed relay? Or even a fuse? Usually there is one relay for the up and one for the down? The best way to test is to swap relays. Then it will go down and not up. Did you get it fixed? Just curious. 🙂
