sdspig Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 hi after hours of trying to fit a smaller belt so i could disconnect the air con compressor in a 2002 audi cabrio with a v6 bdv engine the belt i used was a 6pk1613 fitted perfectly hope that may help all the best steve
Magnet Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Many thanks for the useful post Stephen. Just wondered if there was any particular reason why you wanted to disconnect the compressor. Kind regards, Gareth.
sdspig Posted August 12, 2020 Author Posted August 12, 2020 hi gareth yes the problem was the air con compressor has been used unfilled due to no refrigerant and oil caused by the pressure sensor leaking so i thought bypass the drive to the compressor for a while so the car is still usable until i can afford a replacement compressor if left with the compressor still being driven it would have broke up internally as its the non clutch type so the internals are always driven air con on or off makes no difference it was making some horrendous clanking noises about to seize rendering the vehicle undriveable all the best steve
Magnet Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Thanks Steve. Didn’t realise it was the non clutched type. Kind regards, Gareth. p.p. Anyway, air con in a convertible? - unless the car has to be used as everyday transport.
Georgina Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Thanks for this post. I was in a confusion regarding which car to choose for our trip to Mysoore from Funday Holidays. Now, I got an answer.
Magnet Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 What’s the connection between your non working air con. and the underlined Funday Holidays then Tebinn? You were in a confusion at Cleveland?! How confused are we!? Kind regards, Gareth.
