Cheers steve.

New boots day!

Fronts that were on, are both decent and 6mm. Both goodyear ,but one an F1, other  an excellence. So different tread patter, both rears are F1 and near 3mm in tread. So easiest way is 4 new.

Decided on continental premium contact 6, reviews seem to show the tread lasts better than the sport. Oh well, guess i will find out in time😀

Another little job crossed off my OCD list. Parking sensor switch.......worn pretty bad, all others are fine. So obviously draws my attention. No more, popped stereo out with tools, pry'd the top part of dash up a tad with plastic dash pry. Then could get in the head unit and push sensor out. Now the switch is not identical, very slight difference on top, so rather than file off, just ended up swapping the switch cover(pops off easy enough)

Just await my top left engine cover(near air filter). Then should be done for a while i hope.

Oh had intermittent temp gauge, get to 90 then drop like a stone. Stay there for miles, than fly up to 90! Knew sensor as too quick for a stat or coolant issue(level always spot on). So b8stard of a job, air intake off, pipes, long screw drivers and patience. Temp gauge spot on, not bad for £10 febi one.

So engine area nice and tidy

Also decided on a visual deterrent, love or hate them. Its obviously alarmed and immobilised, but nothing too obvious .

Size small is the one, with the b6 being quite a small wheel.

Been a while, few updates and couple of issues.

After reading up and lots of recommendations , decided on 10L of fuchs Pro S, new filter and crush washer. Very disappointed, and after speaking to Tim at Opie, i was the 1st to have this issue(or so i thought). Basically the cold start chain rattle was worse, little louder, maybe 0.5s longer, but either way enough to notice!. I since found out i am not the only one , just cant find it on forums/threads.

Ester content or not, i cant recommend the pro S from my experience.

So recently changed to millers nano

Already quieter and back under a second, much happier. I admit running there is not much difference or i cant tell, its the start up thats noticeable.

I had my econ light come on 2 weeks back........here we go! So some reading up, seemed unlikely to be compressor(do for me!). Much more common for a leak or high pressure switch. Now knowing i had it recently filled/serviced without issue(only low on gas at around 200g) i had a feeling it was the sensor.  It was!

Can see the corrosion , replaced and re-gassed, perfect.

Has a 1 way valve inside, so when removed you only loose smallest amount of gas

Now prior to changing the sensor, i noticed the alternator belt very tired. Looked frayed right along centre, right around belt. Well it turned out it was split in 2! So actually 2 belts, new belt went on. Defo worth checking if not, seems to be a forgotten part being tucked down bellow. Naturally the tensioner was seized but easy enough to free off. No need to remove bumper, just service position.

Noticed the rear wash was not working(going back 2 months). Took nozzle off and tested, nice jet out back(could be fun!).  Tried to clean out nozzle, WD etc but had no compressed air. So after an hour i gave up and ordered new for £8

Was a pain to get both nozzles adjusted right, lots of back and forth to get accurate.

Fresh 12m MOT on it last Friday as well, inspector seemed happy enough and loved it.
