Hello

I changed timing belt kit 8 months ago in Edinburgh Audi but it failed few weeks ago. I towed back it to Edinburgh Audi but they are refusing to fix it under warranty. They refusing it because belt didn't fail but pin what is holding roller snaped off.

Shouldn't that be included in warranty?

I tried to complain to Audi.uk but they wasn't interested.

Hello Ritvrs,

Sorry to hear of your problem.

You will have to give us more information about ‘pin holding roller’ before anyone can help, but it seems this is probably part of the timing belt assembly, so the work should be covered by the Audi dealer.

I would strongly advise you to contact your local Citizens Advice Bureau and take their advice about claiming against Edinburgh Audi. They should be able to help you by compiling a formal letter.

Kind regards,

Gareth.

Hello Ritvrs,

OK, thanks - understand now - it’s the bolt that holds the tensioner in place.

If it were mine, I would follow my suggestion regarding legal advice without delay.

Perhaps you could keep us informed of how you get on.

Kind regards,

Gareth.

Thanks Ava,

But the Audi specialist you list is in Australia, and the original poster was in difficulties in the U.K!

We’ll forget about the fact that he joined the forum, asked for advice and never returned after the day he joined, but.......

Just wondered whether you have any connection with the company you refer to?

Kind regards,

Gareth.
