Redsnaper Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Hello everyone, does anyone have any experiences with using premium 98 RON grade petrol in their Q3? I have a 2019 Q3 40 TFSI and wondered if there are mpg or performance gains by using the higher octane, I understand most UK cars are 'tuned' to run best on 'normal' 95 RON fuel. I have tried using 98 RON in the past in different vehicles but mostly found that the MPG was in fact worse! Incidentally I am getting a max of 30-33 MPG!
Steve Q Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Unless your car specifically requires it then I think you'll find no or hardly want change. Plus any benefits are often out weighed by the purchase cost.
