Rams Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Hi everyone, My SQ5 has had a rattle in the panoramic roof for over a year now. Its been back to the dealer 4 times now and had it lubricated etc etc. I told the dealer many times in the past that it was a known problem with SQ5 and I believed the solution was to replace the frame which is a big expensive job which they didn't want to do. It is now out of warranty and guess hat the solution is. Replace the frame £2700 + cost. They have offered to pay 75% but this leaves me with a bill of over £600 for an issue that would have been resolved in warranty if they had done as I suggested. I've initially gone back and said that's not good enough ask the manager for a rethink and they also say if they contribute I must give them a 5 star rating which sounds a bit like blackmail to me. Does anyone know what my rights are or had the same issue and successfully resolved? Thanks in advance
Steve Q Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 If it's been back whilst under warranty then you should be covered as the issue still hasn't been repaired. Might be worth you speaking to Audi customer care too. 1
Magnet Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Hello Robert, Just wondering:- Why ‘Model’- None yet, and ‘Year’ - N/A. The forum obviously is nor aware of how long the vehicle has now been out of warranty. Can we take it that you have retained a record of your complaint and when the vehicle was presented to the dealership? All good and necessary evidence to support Steve’s valid comments. Kind regards, Gareth.
Rams Posted September 8, 2020 Author Posted September 8, 2020 Hi Gareth, its a 2017 model so only out of warranty earlier this year and yes I have all the paperwork from previous visits and ther attempted fixes.

I'd also argue, that by them agreeing to foot 75% of the bill, they agree with your opinion that the frame is the issue. Therefore in a way they're admitting they haven't repaired it.
Magnet Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Many thanks Robert. Great that you have everything documented to proceed with a claim as if under warranty. Well worth amending your profile to include model and year details. Kind regards, Gareth.
