Realiaink Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 Hi all. Recently got a lease A4 Avant 20 plays and looking for the best and affordable options on a bike rack or storage? I have 2 kids bikes and 1 adult but it’s a minefield trying to work out what to get. I also don’t want to be paying stupid money for something I might need for just 2 years. Any suggestions or prior experience?
Steve Q Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 Think you're 3 options are: 1st. Universal one that attaches to the boot which probably will be the cheapest. 2nd. Roof rack with bike carriers which either can be bought from Halfords or more expensive option of Audi. For this you'll need the roof bars, rack abd bike mounts 3rd. Only applicable if you have a tow bar but you can get towbar mounted ones.

I think it is either Option 1 or Option 2. For Option 2 - would it be the following: https://www.halfords.com/motoring/roof-bars-roof-boxes/roof-bars/thule-roof-bars-761-pack-of-2-625350.html Then three of these : https://www.halfords.com/cycling/bike-racks/roof-mounted-bike-racks/halfords-roof-mount-bike-rack-635780.html Struggling to find any rear boot ones that fit for Option 1- we wouldn't be using it often, more for getting the kids bikes around. Thanks Iain
Steve Q Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 That looks about right but I'd ask Halfords for advice. Option one was popular back in the day, I'm assuming they're still legal? You still see them on the road.
