MGM Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 Hi all, I recently bought a 2007 Q7, when I press the Nav button, MMI says "navigation is not installed", navigation dvd drive in the boot does not show any light even when engine is on, and does not eject, does not take in a new maps dvd (bought from ebay), any help with possible issues? thanks
Magnet Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 Hello Mohammad, Thanks for being in touch. It appears the unit is not receiving power, and that should be your first port of call. Actually connected? If so, fuse OK etc. Kind regards, Gareth.
MGM Posted November 5, 2020 Author Posted November 5, 2020 Hi Gareth, thanks alot for this, so who would be a best person to contact to check this for me, an auto electrician? Sorry I dont know much about technical stuff😐
Magnet Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 You are very welcome Muhammad. Yes, absolutely correct - an auto electrician. Try to choose a local one with good reviews, or one who has been recommended to you. You are indeed very wise not to fiddle with electrics unless you are competent with such things. Kind regards, Gareth.
BookerSussex Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 Hi, once you get the power sorted you may then find that the DVD drive is factory locked and you won’t be able to eject the old DVD, apparently Audi do this to protect the discs during transit! Audi can unlock it for you (at a cost) but a Carista OBDII tool and premium account might do it. I had one of these Q7’s and loved it but they are prone to the engine and fault lights coming on quite a lot, I highly recommend a Carista OBDII plug (about £20 on Amazon) and a premium account (app from App Store then £35 a year) as this will diagnose all issues and reset all lights once issue sorted. It also allows you to change seatings in the car. I found it invaluable with the older Q7. Very small investment for such a useful tool and works on almost all cars.
