Hi All

Very strange thing happened today I had no drive on my car it’s 2009 a6 cvt which has had a reconditioned gearbox but all has been good until today when it just had no drive I am hoping it’s not the gearbox as the warranty is 1000 miles over the limit of 12000 it came to a halt but I could hear metallic grinding noise in drive and reverse  from under the car got towed home but I am hoping it’s the drive shafts but I can’t understand why they’ve gone as all bolts were renewed when the gearbox was done
Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

Hi All

Yet another update

I was told by a auto gearbox specialist that it would 99% be the drive shaft so got the car towed to my local garage parts had been ordered only to find that the drive shaft was ok and whatever the part it bolts to had failed with a damaged seal there was no oil inside can anyone tell me what this part is called it pushes into the gearbox similar to a differential

Thanks in advance
