Engine light has come on

Hi all, 

ive recently brought a 3L Audi A7. I did a very short journey today and I switched on the car the engine management system light seem to keep on flashing. Once I arrived back home. I switched the car off and then back on & it seems to have gone. Any insights into what it might be.
