Bob munns Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 Can I go on line to see if the previous owner has had the cam belt changed and if is there a link also what should the cost be to replace, thanks in advance
NMcLean77 Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 A quick call to an Audi garage asking for a quote will get you the price, and they will be able to advise if a replacement has been done on their system.
SRVO Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 Not sure about the water pump price, but Audi recently quoted me £595 for the cambelt replacement on my 2013 Q5 2.0 TDI.
Steve Q Posted May 6, 2021 Posted May 6, 2021 £500-£600 is about right for a cambelt and water pump change.
Gesanners Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 Crazy prices. i always use a trusted independent garage.
Magnet Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Hello Gerry, Independents can often be as expensive as the main dealer, particularly where dealers have promotion on such work - as they do. ‘Official’ independents usually use only VAG parts, so that will be fine if that is the case. Local garages tend to use whatever brand of parts they can obtain at best prices from their local supplying factors, and in my book, the quality of the parts used is of vital importance - particularly in respect of water pumps, where my choice is always main dealer only, with no exceptions. Kind regards, Gareth.
Mut Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 The Audi highway robbers south of Thames want nearly £900. For replacement of 2017 Q5 2.0 TDI Quatro Cambelt kit Toothed Belt,Tensioning Roller, Idler Pulley x 2 and Nut and Bolts & water pump. Car is coming up to 6 years old and 25,000 miles
Magnet Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Hello Stewart, Since it was close to £600 2 years ago, then I’m not at all surprised about your current £900 quote. I think we are unfortunately all used to such % increases with most thinks we buy/pay to get done. Kind regards, Gareth.
