CrimsonA3T Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 Hey guys! I've got a 2006 Audi A3 2.0 TFSI with 115,000 miles on the clock. It's been rigorously maintained and serviced regularly at an Audi Specialist garage however I'm aware it needs a new near side rear backplate, brake caliper, rear discs and rear brake pads. I was just wondering if anyone else had a 2.0 TFSI engine and if anyone knew how long they last? I don't want to spend a load of money getting this work done only for the engine to conk out soon, and is there any work that will definitely need doing soon. I've had the cambelt done recently so that should be ok for now. I do like my car however I don't want to end up spending more on keeping it going than is worth it. Thanks!
cliffcoggin Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 There is no fixed End Of Life date for any engine. Engine life depends entirely on how carefully it has been driven and how well it has been maintained. You know the latter, but do you know the former? Having said that, it can not have been maintained too rigorously if it needs all that work on the braking system.
