Hi,

As Audi owners, as anyone come across the following fault? While I am driving the engine just drops into idle mode ( not always, only sometimes )  and if I put my foot down on the accelerator nothing happens. It engine doesn't rev it just idles but if I lift my foot off the accelerator and then back on it, it  works ok again. Or if I drop a gear the engine kicks in again. very strange fault. I've had it mechanically checked but nothing came up on the diagnostics.

Can be a little scary at times. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

I had a similar problem, sometimes iy would donthe same as you and others it would go into limp mode,

The problem turned out to be the wiring harness, it had some how became stretched where it attaches to throttle body and the engine vibrations upset the wiring, the garage just made an extension loom up and extened the cable been working for a year now, might be worth getting the garage to check, it took months to find it because everytime i took it to garage it behaved itself

My EPC light comes on randomly every few months and limits power, I switch it off and on again then it’s alright still with the light on though. Next time I drive completely normal

Thanks for your replies. It's behaving itself at the moment so hard to pin down. Thanks again.
