A6 avant water getting into tyre well

Hello. I am puzzled as to how water is getting into the boot under the battery? I had a removable tow hitch fixed last year but cannot see how that would matter. It’s definitely rain water as I dried it out and after rain it was back. I keep thinking it’s something to do with those hard plastic plates alongside the light cluster . Any one had similar issues please

Hi Mark....welcome to the Club

Usual place for water to enter is past the gaskets on the rear lights.

Pop them out put some silicon on them and refit to see if that makes any difference
