Good evening All from a new member.

Was wondering if anyone would have some knowledge and help me to get to the bottom of the issue which I'm having with my car. I will try to be short as possible regarding how I found myself in this situation.

In 2018 I've purchased my 66reg SQ7 which is a Black Edition (best car ever) and unluckily in December last year, I was involved in a small road collision when the front of the car suffers an impact. I've used my insurer-approved repair centre (not a smart decision - I know now) where the car was repaired. Few parts have been replaced:

- matrix headlight

- front bumper

- one of the lane assistance sensors

- some of the parking sensors

- front grill

The repaired car was dropped at my home address just before Xmas and as soon as I've comeback from work I've realized that the front grill on my car is a different colour than was originally fitted with. I've reported that on the same day to the insurance company and since then I can't get straight answers to what went wrong.

Checking by the registration number/VIN number, my front grille should be 4M0853651L FUQ - Dark Chrome Matt. The only problem is that what has been fitted is not in gloss black colour as it was before (similar to the photo - Screenshot (64)) and I can't check if that part number appears on the grill. To check the part number of the new grill I would have to instruct someone to dismantle the whole front of the car - including all front sensors which may need to be recalibrated after all goes backs in.

If possible would anyone be able to confirm if 4M0853651L FUQ - Dark Chrome Matt grille is for my Black Edition SQ7. If it isn't could you please put some light on the correct part number/numbers so the repair centre can rectify this.

Much appreciated for your assistance on this folks and stay safe.

Kind regards,

Damian

I had a similar issue with my daily, it went back 3 times. Definitely worth contacting your insurance company. I'm with agreas and they've been brilliant. They sent out an assessor, and my advice would be to ask the insurance company to do this.

Hi Steve.

I've requested that already and nothing. When I've complained to AVIVA regarding the repair they said they need to review all and it can take up to 8 weeks. 17 weeks gone and the AVIVA stance is that they stack with their approved repair centre and the part fitted to my car is correct one. They didn't send assessor when I've request - I just wondering if there are companies that could take this on and maybe start maybe some legal proceedings as I can't see me winning with them - just want the car looks the same as it went for the repair - nothing else.

I was thinking to purchase grill myself and AVIVA agreed to cover the total cost of replacing but what if the 4M0853651L FUQ - Dark Chrome Matt grill will be exactly same and this will now be a problem with AUDI parts data base - not sure on that and AVIAV would cover that.

I've contacted AUDI UK but they cannot help:

"I would have to advise that as Audi UK, we are solely the importer’s of new vehicles’ into the UK and as such have no involvement in vehicle manufacture, sales, maintenance or repair. Further, we do not supply parts.
I therefore will need to direct you towards the Parts Department at your local Audi Centre, who will be able to advise on the correct part for your vehicle"

and they asked me to get in touch with local dealer ship. I've done this and they confirm that this is correct part number and is on special order and I will need to pay upfront for the part and no returns.

Not sure what to do - they just making you look like a fool. Was wondering if anyone else have same car "black edition" one.

Kind regards,

Damian

Sorry you've had that. I too have been with Aviva a d understand how much of a nightmare they are. You're only other option is to have it resprayed by a body shop.
