Turn over but won't start

Evening all, my A6 C6 2.0 tdi 56 plate was remapped by a local remap company, I drove the car on the day of the remap and then again two days later, in total 34 miles. On both drives the car worked perfect, no new noises etc, I drove to a classic car show, parked in a very tight spot, turned the engine off and got out, I then realised there were more parking spaces at the rear of parking facility, jumped back into the car and it wouldn't start, it would turn over but not start.  Recovery came out and said it was the High pressure fuel pump that was gone, my local garage can't find anything wrong and company who remapped the car have removed the remap and still no action, engine tries to turn but not actually starting. Any suggestion would be a great help? Unfortunately I am unable to send a diagnostics as the car is at the garage.

Thanks for the quick response, tried the break cleaner and easy start and both fired the engine. Keys haven't been dropped but i can take the spare to the garage. Slave fuel pump works so could it be the high pressure fuel pump?

Thanks Kev, I have been told by the company that did the remap that it is now fixed, a "lose wire" apparently.  I will be asking questions regarding the lose wire, location etc and will put on here for future members to review as may help them.

So, after speaking to the  Remap company they found a corroded lose wire. The explained that at the front of the engine there are two camshaft sensors, a wire runs from these down the engine under the manifold to a grey plug, they found resistance across the grey plug from corrosion. Took it out, cleaned it up and replaced and car works fine. I am dubious about this as car worked fine before remap but they could be telling me the truth?
