AA7737 Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 Hi anyone got any tips for doing my own work on my cars? Gonna fully service my A3 tfsi 2.0 dsg, it's got a few codes on it such as camshaft position slow bank 1 and something else to do with cleaning the oil pick up pipe. Looking to tackle this on my own, haven't worked on a car before however got all the tools including jack and axle stands. So any tips, don't wanna mess anything up.
cliffcoggin Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 Hello A (Anonymous?) If you have never worked on a car before the best tip I can give you is get some instruction from somebody who knows what he is doing. Learn how to use the tools, how to immobilise the car, how to jack it up safely, and even how to clean your hands at the end of the day. To imagine you can charge in knowing nothing more than a few fault codes is the height of foolishness. 2
