Hi everyone,

I was in Lake District for 3 days and on Thursday (04/11), the idling seemed juddery, thought nothing of it as no malfunctions on dash.

Yesterday I was driving back home to Cardiff. Started the car up and the idling was still the same, though drove fine. I had driven about 5 miles, came round a bend to go up an incline and engine just stopped with the coil light on dash and I initially saw low pressure in menu screen.

I tried to fire it back up, but to no avail, just wouldn't start. It was turning ng but wouldn't fire.

Looks ng story short, AA couldn't fix, but no fault codes came up, recirculated fuel, but no luck. Ended up being related back home. So having contacted AA at 10:40 am I got back to Cardiff at 02:30 this morning!

Have any owners suffered same issue and how was it resolved?

Your feedback / support would be greatly appreciated.

Hi have you checked the cam belt, the symptoms sound as though the timing may have slipped especially as there are no codes.

On the Audi Q5 forum, majority stating potential injector issues, so will arrange test with my specialist to check pressures on all 6 injectors.

The SQ5 has a timing chain not a cam belt and believe that I am not able to check.

Hi Matthew,

Yeah got resolved, injectors 5 & 6 had failed and where I had been trying to turn engine over, it had flooded the chambers and dumped diesel into the engine.

So replaced the injectors with new Bosch ones, replaced all seals and washers on all 6, complete oil and filter change, total job incl vat was £1,081 at Bosch Specialists in Cardiff. Audi wanted £572+vat per injector, though I get 27% discount, so would have cost me £416 from Audi Cardiff.

Car driving better than when I bought it in Sept 2019, so job well done.
