Louis0 Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Hi All, I'm looking to upgrade the sound system in my A6 C7 Avant 2014 sline. It has the standard concert audio system. I'm currently considering either a speaker and amp install or a full (used from ebay) bose system retrofit. I have no experience with audio systems, but have worked on cars and stripped out an A6 interior trim due to a water ingress issue! So have some experience for the install. All advice and suggestions would be appreciated, especially spec and methodology for the speaker and amp install, and what is entailed in a bose retrofit. Thanks Louis
Steve Q Posted December 8, 2021 Posted December 8, 2021 The Bose system is a good upgrade abd won't harm retail value as it's not a modification in the normal sense. I think some components will need programing to the car (any modules for example) otherwise it should be fairly straightforward. My advice would be to buy a complete kit from a c7 being broken and ideally for you to see the system in place so you know where everything goes.
Louis0 Posted December 8, 2021 Author Posted December 8, 2021 Thanks for input Steve - much appreciated. I'm just concerned that the wiring is not the same, and I'd end up pulling out the whole interior to install the Bose harness. I've approached a company in sweeden that did a retrofit, so hopefully they don't mind answering my questions and it becomes clearer.
Robson46 Posted April 13 Posted April 13 How did you get on with this ? About to do a similiar upgrade, what sizes are the speakers ?
