David Hirst Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Sorry to be a pain Gareth,is this the correct battery have put registration in and this is the only exide on their site? Just double checking before I order from eBay?
Magnet Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 No problem David, everyone gets things wrong from time to time. I put my mistakes down to old age! Back to your Tayna battery:- Seems Exide only do one grade of AGM, so that’s simpler. Try going into eBay, and searching for the same battery from Tayna. You will find its ‘post free’ on eBay, so it could work out cheaper for you, and you have the benefit of ‘Contact seller’ and giving them your reg. no. again to double check it will be correct. When you have gone through that you may be able to use a discount code such as SAVES8 which will give you an extra 8% off. Send me a PM if in difficulty - I’ll be out all the morning, but will come back to you today. Good luck and kind regards, Gareth.
David Hirst Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 Hi Gareth found this on eBay ( via tayna )is this the correct battery pal?
David Hirst Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 Done some digging and don’t think it is pal
Magnet Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 It’s not the required AGM type David. Any reason why you aren’t now confirming with Tayna that the AGM one you pictured earlier is correct for your car - or not?
David Hirst Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 Have been looking on eBay but can’t find one, and have also been looking for a garage where I can get it fitted
David Hirst Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 Got it and just awaiting garage to confirm it fitting on Thursday 🤞👍
Magnet Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 Your garage will need to code the new battery to the car David.
David Hirst Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 Yeah have specified that on request part of the form , have got to speak with garage tomorrow so will double check then👍👍 1
AudiA62019 Posted May 7 Posted May 7 On 11/11/2023 at 6:05 AM, David Hirst said: Hi how did you go on with your issues?got a similar problem with my A6 40 2019 , it’s booked in with Audi on the 21st , I had my battery (in boot of vehicle) replaced by RAC a year ago car has been perfect up until end of October when I came to start it fired up straight away and as I moved off came with various warnings , got told could be alternatir and charging issues?? Below picture from my Audi app Hi, Appolgise for the very late reply have you managed to sort out the problem with you car? I had mine sorted out it was just the water pump an cambelt in the end just Audi gave me the run around
Magnet Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Sorry Shak, I’m failing to link lack of stop/start with water pump and cambelt. Kind regards, Gareth.
E IG Posted June 18 Posted June 18 I too have an A6 . It’s an SLINE Quattro black edition. ITS MY 6 th Audi and I’ve never had any problems with any of them until now. It is an 2019 edition and I’m wondering if,as a lot of people on various sites are complaining about the year, is there a batch of rogue A6s out there. My dash started to come up with various messages including parking brake fault add washer fluid (which still appeared even though I’d topped it up) central locking fault no reverse gear. I've had to leave it with Belfast Audi who rang tonight to tell me I’m looking at at least £500 to download the upgrades. Never had to do it before don’t want to pay for it now am really annoyed and very disappointed. Any comments info or help would be gratefully received
Magnet Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Welcome Ian, Without trawling back through all responses, and following the logic of cheaply eliminating potential causes:- How old is the battery? Does the car get regular runs? Have you had the battery efficiency checked? Halfords stores should be able to test it. It would probably be well worth your while to come back to us before committing to buy, if found to be substandard. Kind regards, Gareth.
E IG Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Thanks Gareth. My car is actually with Belfast Audi waiting on the updates. I use it every day and because of covid it has less than 25000 miles so I don’t think it should be the battery. It’s just so many people seem to have trouble with the dash bringing up random messages I wondered about rogue A6 s from 2019. Any ideas. Thanks
Magnet Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Thanks for coming back on this Ian, If it were mine, and having respect for my wallet, I would consider removing the car from the Audi dealers pending getting the battery efficiency checked. 25k over 5 years ‘….. don’t think it’s the battery…’ such low usage is actually just what does adversely affect batteries. Not my car Ian, so obviously I can only treat a problem as if it were mine, and go from first principles and eliminate the basics first by a no/low cost procedure. Kind regards, Gareth.
E IG Posted June 19 Posted June 19 🤬🤬🤬 Gareth ! Wish I’d checked this site before leaving it in with Audi! Left yesterday morning , still no word. You really think I should just take it out and ask Halfords?
Audi quality joke Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Hey guys…. I am having a nightmare with my Audi A6 2019 which I don’t even have 1 year. I was driving a long and my car staring to lose power. A Drive system fault came on and the car no longer starts. Audi did a diagnosis on it and nothing was showing up?? They could not tell me what was wrong with car they said they would need more time to investigate further. Two weeks later I have been hit with an estimated bill on what needs to be done. The whole fuel system needs replacing with parts and labour time totally €13,000 How does this happen to an Audi A6 2019 car??
Magnet Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Please come back to us when you can be bothered to fill in your profile properly. Come on Audi quality joke, are you trying to have a joke on us, on a weekend and requesting free advice, without so much as a please or thank you, and you can’t even be bothered to spend anything more than the minimum effort to ask. Not on! Perhaps I should point out that my reaction is far from our normal style on here, but…. 1
cliffcoggin Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Are you asking for advice or merely having a rant? If it's the former we need more details, if it's the latter I'll not respond further.
