Larryadler Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 Just a thought, I have had my 2019 Q5 almost 3 years, a 40Tdi, I am not doing the mileage pre COVID, still do about 7.5k a year. Obviously as a diesel owner, I am only too familiar with all the dpf horror stories, and for that reason I give mine a good run every two weeks, over 2000rpm for about 25-30 minutes. it does not appear to be such a prevalent issue these days, but my car does do the fan running on turning the engine off, which I presume is the vehicle doing a regen of the dpf, or is it the fan on the cooling system? Either way, I take no chances, and next time out give it a blast. So I was wondering is this an issue that has been resolved on newer vehicles, and has anyone else had any issues ? Larry
Steve Q Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 Hey Larry, you're doing the right actions. Any dpf can block regardless of diesel car these days.
