Climate control codes - 2003 TT 150bhp

Hi all

I have an Audi TT 1.8 - 150bhp - 2003 - the temp dial is faulty. It shows as 70° just on start (faulty)

I seen a climate control code video ‘49C’ to check the temp more accurately - is anyone else having the faulty temp dial?

 

or does anyone else know more Climate Control Codes?

Can you just replace the dial? I thought it's a complete unit. You should be able to get a used replacement from eBay.
